P.S. 3

Academics

From three years old to thirteen, in one building

A child can start at P.S. 3 in 3-K and leave from eighth grade having already banked high school credit.

What our children leave with

  • High school credit before high school

Nearly two in three of our eighth-graders leave here having already earned high school credit. Citywide, the figure is one in three.

  • Algebra for Regents credit

Algebra is offered to eighth-graders for Regents credit, before a student has set foot in a high school.

  • Experienced teachers

84% of our teachers have three or more years in the classroom, a little above the citywide figure of 81%.

Kindergarten – Grade 5
The elementary years, when children first take on jobs in the school's MicroSociety.
Grades 6 – 8
Middle school in the same building, with no move and no new start. Our own fifth-graders continue straight through.
